Studio Portrait Session with Savannah
While we have become known for my signature fine art portrait lighting, we do actually have a large collection of different looks and styles in the portfolio. This session was intended to showcase a couple of those looks, but I couldn’t resist ending with my signature portrait…more on that later.
Natural Window Light
The baseline of my look, huge, soft, wonderful window lighting. The look I aim to replicate with my studio flash, but with a bit more control of the shadows. We have 9’ windows that span the entire 20’ feet width of my portrait studio here in Mesa and they are covered with sheer curtains to help diffuse the harsh Arizona sun. This soft, dramatic lighting is gorgeous and really adds a specific look to our line of beauty images.
Fashion Portraits
Most everything we do comes from the original inspiration of fashion magazines, we just tend to put a fine art spin on it most of the time. For this set, we went straight for the Vogue 90’s fashion look…creative posing for dramatic lines and angles, combined with this amazing Coachella themed dress and unique necklace from my Wardrobe Stylist Jennifer’s personal collection. Savannah absolutely nailed the look and feel!
Fine Art Glamour in My Shirt
This set was shot specifically for my ongoing themed collection, “In My Shirt”, where we provide my personal white dress shirt and allow the ladies (although I did get Isaac to do a set with it as well) to create whatever look they want to do with it. This is Savannah’s unique interpretation. She elected to add in my completely shredded black jeans and wear the shirt backwards… How cool is that?! I never made either of these items look this damn good!
Fine Art Portrait
Of course I couldn’t let the opportunity pass and not do my signature look with Savannah. Jennifer put together a SoCal meets Grunge look that, as you can see, was amazing. Just add a little of my secret sauce lighting… Gorgeous!
